How much does an NVIDIA B200 cost in Spain? Buy, rent or hybrid

What renting a B200 in Spain costs compared with the big cloud providers, and everything behind owning one: 24/7 operations, failures, datacenter, compliance and obsolescence.

By Julio Sola Hernández-Rubio, founder of GPU SolutionsUpdated:

In Spain, a full NVIDIA B200 rents for €8.00 per hour excl. VAT at GPU Solutions, with the data in Madrid. That is 36% to 44% less than AWS, Google Cloud or Oracle. Buying one looks cheaper on paper, but the server price is only the entry ticket: most of the cost is in keeping it running, secure and certified, around the clock.

I am writing this because it is the question we hear most. The short answer is almost always the same: for the vast majority of companies, renting is the sensible choice. Here is why, with public data and no hype.

Price per hour of a B200 versus the big cloud providers

On-demand list price per GPU-hour, with no commitment. Providers that sell 8-GPU nodes are normalised per GPU. Dollar prices are converted at the European Central Bank reference rate of 5 October 2026 (€1 = $1.1204). All excluding taxes.

(*) Google Cloud does not sell the B200 strictly on demand: it offers reservations, Spot or Flex-start. The figure is the on-demand equivalent calculated by Thunder Compute.

There are offers with lower list prices from providers outside Spain. Before comparing, check four things: where the data is processed and stored, which jurisdiction the company is under, whether its platform holds ENS, and which currency it bills in. An hourly price in dollars, without ENS and with a parent company outside the EU, is not the same product.

What our price includes: your data is processed and stored in Spain, with no subprocessors outside the EU and a data processing agreement with a zero-retention option; the platform is certified ENS Medium and ISO/IEC 27001:2023; we bill in euros, with no currency risk; support is in Spanish and English; and if a GPU fails, it is our problem, not yours.

And you do not always need a whole GPU. The B200 supports MIG (Multi-Instance GPU): the physical GPU is split into hardware-isolated parts, each with its own memory and cores, never shared with another customer. Our full list, also on the pricing page:

1/8 of a B200 · ≈23 GB

€1.50 per hour · MIG profile 1g.23gb

1/4 of a B200 · 45 GB

€3.00 per hour · MIG profile 1g.45gb

1/2 of a B200 · 90 GB

€8.00 per hour · €5,840 per month (730 hours)

On-demand means no commitment, subject to availability. Reserved means guaranteed capacity, with a 6-month minimum. If you are thinking longer term, let's talk.

What owning a B200 really costs

A datacenter B200 is not sold on its own: it comes inside 8-GPU HGX servers. Public third-party estimates put that server at $400,000 to $500,000 (Mercatus and Silicon Analysts). That is the easy part to calculate. What does not appear in the server quote is everything you need around it to run it in production:

A ready datacenter

A DGX B200 node draws up to 14.3 kW according to NVIDIA. Few datacenters in Spain support that density per rack, and fewer still with direct-to-chip liquid cooling.

Network and storage

InfiniBand to connect GPUs, parallel storage so they never wait for data, and redundant connectivity. Each with its own cost and its own specialist.

24/7 operations

Someone on call every night, weekend and holiday. AI workloads in production do not wait until Monday.

Failures and spares

GPUs, power supplies, boards and network cards fail. Without spares on hand, a warranty claim can take weeks, and the machine sits idle meanwhile.

Downtime

A single server is a single point of failure. Redundancy means buying more than you use.

Security and compliance

ENS, ISO 27001, periodic audits, documentation, access management and patching. It is continuous work, not a one-day formality.

Software

Drivers, firmware, CUDA, orchestration, monitoring and updates that break things if not tested first.

Tied-up capital

Hundreds of thousands of euros paid upfront that are not in your product, with their financing cost.

Obsolescence

NVIDIA releases a new datacenter GPU generation every one to two years. The equipment you buy today loses value from day one.

Lead times

Months between order, delivery, installation and commissioning.

Under-utilisation

Your own server costs the same at 3 a.m. as at noon. Renting, you pay for the hours you use.

None of this is exotic: it is exactly what we do every day so you do not have to. When you compare the hourly price with the server price, compare it with everything on this list too.

When each option fits

Rent

The sensible choice for almost every company: pilots, production, peaks, or when you do not yet know which model you will serve. Predictable cost, no investment and no operations team. Start with a MIG fraction from €1.50 per hour or, if you only need inference, with tokens on GPU Flow from €0.06 per million.

Hybrid

If you already own hardware, we provide the peaks, the backup and continuity when something fails, without oversizing your investment.

Buy

It only makes sense with very high, sustained usage, a ready datacenter and a 24/7 team. If that is you, we help you size it on our cluster before you buy and, if you want, we operate it for you.

Want the numbers for your case? In a 45-minute session with an engineer we measure your workload and tell you what suits you. Book the session.

To see how this applies to your sector, we have dedicated pages for healthcare, law firms and legal teams, banking and insurance, manufacturing and R&D and the public sector, with use cases, data flow and the applicable regulation.
